Not every AI investment pays off. Learn to choose the right ones, lead the change, and make it last.
This programme gives you the skills to make smarter AI decisions, drive adoption across your organisation, and build a strategy that holds up — fully funded through the Apprenticeship Levy.
Make evidence-based AI investment and procurement decisions — and know what the vendor pitch isn't telling you.
Design a governance framework that embeds accountability and transparency into your organisation's decision-making.
Lead cross-functional AI-enabled change — redesigning workflows, assessing workforce impacts, and guiding your teams through adoption.
Represent your organisation in external AI conversations with regulators, partners and sector bodies — with the authority that comes from doing this work, not just reading about it.
Who is this training for?

CTOs, CDOs, and MDs responsible for AI direction, investment and outcomes.

How Boom Training works
AI Leadership Apprenticeship Programme is built around three units that take you from strategy to implementation. Everything is designed to fit around a full-time senior role.
From strategy to delivery, end to end
You progress through three structured units — Discover, Design, and Implement — each 30 hours of delivery, ensuring deep understanding at every stage before moving forward.
Hands-on AI projects
Every unit is built around real-world scenarios, showing how leading AI tools are applied in practice, bridging the gap between theory and real implementation.
Direct access to AI experts
Every session is led by experienced AI practitioners working at the forefront of real-world implementation — bringing first-hand knowledge of the tools, challenges and decisions organisations face today.

FAQ
What does this cost my organisation?
Most organisations pay nothing. If your annual payroll is over £3 million, training is fully funded through your Apprenticeship Levy account. If your organisation doesn't pay the Levy, the government covers 95% of the cost and you contribute 5% directly to us. We'll confirm the exact position on your discovery call.
How much time does this require?
Each unit is delivered over 30 hours of training, designed to fit around a full-time senior role. You'll need to factor in additional time for your skills test, but the programme is structured so that learning happens alongside your day job — not instead of it.
What qualification do I receive?
You earn a nationally recognised credential mapped to the AI Leadership apprenticeship unit standard. It's recorded on your personal learning record and can count toward a full apprenticeship later if you choose to continue.
How is the programme assessed?
The programme concludes with a skills test designed by Boom Training and validated by your employer. It's practical and proportionate to the content covered. We'll walk you through the full assessment approach on your discovery call.
Can multiple people from the same organisation enrol?
Yes. Cohort delivery works well for leadership teams. We can run the programme for a group of senior managers together, with scheduling coordinated around your organisation. Get in touch and we'll talk through the options.
When does the first cohort start?
The first cohort opens in May 2026. Places are limited. We'll confirm availability and a start date on your discovery call.
