Nord Security
The Challenge
Nord Security is the company behind NordVPN, the most trusted VPN in the world, and a growing suite of cybersecurity products used by millions. With 1,800+ employees and a culture built on innovation, the company knows that staying ahead means constantly evolving.
While Nord Security already offered a wide range of internal learning opportunities, some teams were looking for something more: the chance to deepen their skills in AI, data science, and automation through practical, structured training aligned with their real work.
Employees across teams from PR to product wanted to move beyond theory and start applying AI to everyday tasks. They were ready to experiment, automate, and make better decisions with data. But to do that well, they needed guidance, tools, and room to learn by doing.
The Solution
To meet this need, Nord Security partnered with Turing College (Boom’s parent company). Over the past year, 37 employees enrolled in upskilling programmes focused on AI, machine learning, and data analytics, each designed to be practical, flexible, and immediately useful in their roles.
Learners worked through practical projects using real tools, guided by experienced mentors (senior team leads) who supported them throughout. They also tapped into a strong internal community, sharing knowledge, asking questions, and learning from each other along the way.
With a focus on real projects, practical application, and the use of actual tools, the programmes allowed our employees to develop the skills and expertise they needed to succeed in their roles.

The collaboration also included close alignment with Nord Security’s internal teams, ensuring the content stayed relevant to their work and goals.
The Impact
The results were immediate. Employees improved their ability to analyse data, understand AI and machine learning, and apply automation to daily tasks.
One team, in particular, completely transformed how they worked. By integrating AI tools into their daily workflow, they significantly reduced time spent on repetitive tasks, freeing up hours each week and improving the quality and speed of their output. That shift led to better collaboration and more focused decision-making — it changed how the team thought about solving problems.
What’s Next
Some employees have already stepped into new roles thanks to the skills they gained. Others are applying their learning to drive better performance in their current positions. While it’s still early, the programme has already proven its value, boosting capability, confidence, and career momentum across multiple teams.
Would They Recommend It?
Absolutely. Nord Security’s teams saw real progress because the training wasn’t theoretical — it was tailored, practical, and flexible. It gave employees across different departments the space to grow and the skills to lead change.
We highly recommend these programmes to other companies, based on the positive experience of our employees. This training has empowered professionals from various backgrounds to become more data-driven and informed decision-makers.
