Responsibilities
Project Reviews (Core Activity)
Project review is a central part of the apprenticeship journey. In these sessions, the learner presents the project work, and the Technical Mentor, based on the task requirements and their own experience, reviews the work. Main principles of reviewing:
- Project review is an analog of a code or a task review with a senior at a real workplace. We want to make it feel like a collaborative experience with a supportive lead in an actual team.
- A review happens at a time suitable for the reviewer. In our platform, the reviewer adds the time slots during which they are available and the learner can choose those times. However, since apprenticeships require learners to study during work-hours (8am-6pm), the times should primarily be added inside this range.
- Every project review requires preparation & reflection - Technical Mentor should come prepared.
- A review usually lasts around 45 minutes, while the preparation may take anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour.
- Preparation and session time are both compensated.
Open Sessions
Open Sessions are drop-in sessions hosted by Technical Mentors, where learners can join to get personalised help. Your role is to host, answer questions and help learners stay on track with recently covered topics.
How Open Sessions work:
- Delivered as scheduled sessions.
- Learners drop in as needed for guidance, clarification or encouragement.
- Everything is delivered online
