Programme overview
The training is structured around four core modules that guide you from spreadsheets to Python, from dashboards to predictive models - even if you’ve never written a line of code before.
You’ll build practical skills step by step, starting with tools like Excel and moving into Python, SQL and data storytelling. All learning is hands-on, with projects reviewed by experienced data analysts.
Core modules
Introduction to Data Analytics
You’ll start by learning how data analytics works in a real business context. Using tools like Excel, Google Sheets and BigQuery, you’ll practice cleaning, structuring and querying data, even if you’ve never done it before. This module helps you build strong foundations for every data task you already touch, from spreadsheets to reports to day-to-day decisions.
Python Foundations
If you’ve never written code before, this is where you’ll start. You’ll learn Python by doing, using real-world examples to automate repetitive tasks, process large datasets, and build reusable scripts. By the end, you’ll be confident using tools like Pandas to save time and get clearer insights from your data.
Communicating Analysis Results
This module focuses on one of the most overlooked skills: making your findings understandable and impactful. You’ll build interactive dashboards in Tableau and Power BI, then sharpen your presentation and storytelling skills so that your insights convince colleagues, managers and decision-makers.
Main Analysis Types
Here, you’ll learn how to apply practical analysis methods like cohort analysis, customer segmentation, and A/B testing. You’ll work through common business scenarios (like how to understand customer behaviour, track product performance or evaluate a marketing campaign) using tools you’ll actually use on the job.
Optional specialisations
Apprentices can tailor their learning with additional industry-focused modules, such as:
Product Analyst
In this module, learners dive into the world of product analysis. They’ll work with user event data, applying additional logic to extract valuable insights. While the specific analyses may vary depending on the industry and company size, we'll focus on three key areas: Funnel analysis, Ad-hoc analysis, Running A/B tests.
Marketing Analyst
Get ready to explore the dynamic role of a marketing analyst! In this module, learners work with digital ads data, user event data, and various marketing campaign metrics. We'll focus on: Calculating marketing metrics, Analysing ad performance, Running A/B tests.
End Point Assessment (EPA)
At the end of the programme, you’ll complete an End Point Assessment to show everything you’ve learned. You’ll present a real work project, share your portfolio, and have a professional discussion about your work. Pass this stage and you’ll earn the nationally recognised Level 4 Data Analyst qualification - proof you can analyse data, build dashboards, run forecasts, and turn insights into real business impact.

No, and many learners aren’t. This programme is for people who work with data, not just those who have “analyst” in their job title. If you’re using Excel, building reports or helping teams make decisions with data, you’ll benefit from learning how to analyse, visualise and automate that work.

No. You’ll start with tools you already know, like Excel, and build up to SQL and Python step by step—even if you’ve never written a line of code before.

How much does the programme cost, and who pays for it?
If your employer pays the Apprenticeship Levy, it’s 100% government-funded. If not, they’ll usually only pay 5%, and we can often help arrange a levy transfer to cover even that. For learners, there’s no cost at all.
Is this Data Analyst apprenticeship programme only for young people or school leavers?
Not at all. This programme is designed for professionals of all ages who want to upskill while working full time. Most of our learners are already in roles like marketing, finance, operations or admin and use data regularly, even if they’ve never had formal training.
Modern apprenticeships are used by organisations of all sizes to develop internal talent — they’re not limited to early-career learners.
